Vretreats Cervino

Finally, there is trekking and mountaineering, sports which never go out of fashion and which are simply enchanting in such an exceptional location as the Big Peak, right where you’ll find the wooden and glass facility unique in its kind, Vretreats Cervino: the guided climbs to the Matterhorn and Breithorn are dreams come true for mountain lovers who want to try out something decidedly out of the ordinary. There are trekking routes, then, for all skill levels, simple routes and very demanding routes, but whatever height you reach, it’s always a panoramic excursion with breathtaking views.

Discovering the Matterhorn amid culture and traditions

After these sporting activities, there is still time to catch your breath and focus on another aspect of the mountains: the cultural aspect, and the unique traditions.
In Plateau Rosa,
there is the interactive museum, “a mountain of work”, which informs visitors of the history of this magnificent place, with an exhibition of vintage photographs and equipment used in the past to construct plant and facilities, from as early as the 1930’s.
The calendar of local events includes festivals, fetes, markets and traditional events, a unique cultural heritage and a lot of fun. Obviously, this also involved tasting the local produce with ad hoc events not to be missed, as you have to taste the local delights, such as the famous balsamic vinegars with ref fruits, walnut oil and Val d’Aosta fondues.
